While looking for images to invite into my new Amazing Image group series I add the best images I find to my galleries.

When I started my big Amazing Image group series I created a lot of the Galleries with Amazing Image in the name too.

I am right now not sure if I should just add two more photos to the gallery or go back to the drawing board.

I think I see at least 2 or 3 different themes in this gallery. ground fog and spectacular light are the obvious ones.

The views I got in one year on my blog I get for my flickr account in less than 8 hours.

Now its January 2012 and I just took a closer look at the numbers. In its first 365 days of its existence the blog attracted a view count of 246. About 0.67 views per day. For the next weeks at end of december the average views rose to 5.5 per day.

I created the account about 1 year ago. For most of the year the blog was ignored by me and everybody else.

A few days ago I started frequent updates with finished flickr galleries and the occasional image.

I´ll keep the galleries coming no matter if anybody else looks at them or not.

There are several other things I may add to the blog if it becomes popular enough.

Ants real close. Here the headshot type portrait photos are assembled in one of my several ants galleries

The photos in the gallery are arranged as a progression of headshots. Each taken from a slighly different angle.

I started working again on an unfinished and almost forgotten one of my several hundred galleries. While I am searching and checking ant photos I introduced new galleries for full body and group portraits of ants.

As usual for my new or reworked galleries the actual finished gallery contains no portrait mode photo. A mix of different image widths ruins the aesthetics of the gallery presentation.

So the portrait mode photos that originally where part of the main gallery got moved to the comments section once I found 18 suitable landscape mode photos. Originally I had 2 portrait mode photos in the gallery and I found 2 more when I searched for images to finish the gallery. In the galleries comments section you find a small directory for all my ant galleries.

For a long time I have assembled small and not so small virtual exhibitions in my favorites collection.

Now I had the idea that a gallery or rather a number of them is an excellent way to organize a directory of those exhibitions. So I am starting the project now as a Christmas present to the flickr community which will likely ignore it like they do with almost all galleries.

My latest gallery project. It is important enough that I decided to blog it at the earliest opportunity.

A big virtual exposition assembled in my favorites pages. Together there are about 2000 photos taking 30 pages in my favorites collection. And more in another account with people photos only.

So this exposition definitely needs a few galleries as index and directory.

One of several tree galleries in my collection. This one concentrates on single trees or small groups shown as a arge part of the frame or even cropped.

When I started my big Amazing Image group series I
created a lot of the Galleries with Amazing Image in the name too.

Now they often loose the Amazing Image part of the name because long gallery names do not work well on flickr.

A neat combination of a dress with two legs in each photo. An idea I borrowed from the flickr blog together with the first 4 photos in the gallery. Lets see where this idea takes me. The flickr blog in turn borrowed the idea from another gallery.

If you try to create a square crop from a photo that was not intended for it you are often forced to get rid of important but not really essential image parts. Here the problem was not missing room but the exclusion of a guy on the right side and a bag on the left side of the girl. And this all with preserving the square format I currently prefer.

Starting now this blog will turn into the flickr gallery only blog. My future photo uploads go to a separate blog once I figure out how to set it up.

Samba in Rio

My home city Coburg in Germany most likely has the biggest Samba Festival in Europe. Here I take a look how they do it in Brasil.

I did exile the lone portrait mode photo into the galleries comment section and need to find five more images to finish this gallery and publish it on my blog. Now its done.

I have been waiting forever for a prime lens with image stabilizer. The 100L is the first and only one except for Canons super tele lenses.

I started this gallery when the lens was new and later replaced some of the original photos with more intersting later ones

Bavaria revisited

Bavaria revisited, a gallery on Flickr.

One of my best photos got included in a good but not perfect gallery. Here I try to recreate this gallery replace the photos that don´t fit in because they have the wrong image format or an distracting frame. And probably I´ll try my luck at rearranging the photos.

At first I have only reordered the framed photos. Then I replaced the 4 framed photos with other ones of the same subjets.
